How Beautiful Hand Sewn Fringe Makes Your Job Look

Hand Sewn FringeWhen working with silk fabrics you should request hand sewn fringe.  The method of hand sewing allows the fringe to lay perfectly in place with no pucker marks.  This gives your drapery a custom look and enhances the final product.

Hand sewing does require more labor as it is very time consuming.  The extra expense associated with the cost of sewing the fringe on by hand is worth it.

There is a good chance when sewing fringe on with a sewing machine it will cause the leading edges to rise up or become puckered.  Trust me once you see the final product you will be asking for it all the time.

Wide Spread ApplicationsAnna cuts off a few of the tassels as shown above and then places the trim edge inside the side hem along the top fold.  This allows for a clean edge along the top of the drapery.
